About our Pre Ballet Program
This program is designed to prepare young dancers between the ages of 5yrs - 9yrs for a future in Classical Ballet.
For over 50 years this exclusive program has been used to train young dancers at the Kharkov Ballet School in Ukraine. Each age group learns important skills that they will later need in their ballet training.
After completing all three years, students will be ready to begin formal ballet training in the Vaganova Method and will receive a certificate graduating from The Pre Ballet School Program.
Program Elements
Ballet Gymnastics
Ballet Gymnastics is very popular in Ukraine and Russia, particularly for very young students and has produced extremely successful results. Specific exercises and combinations are created to develop flexibility, core and overall strength so that later on the dancer has already developed the flexibility and already knows how to place themselves in ballet class.
Musicality
Musicality is an extremely important concept for dancers to understand as the music tells the dancer how they should dance. Students will learn how to identify different time signatures and what movements are usually performed to those time signatures as well as different tempos.
Introduction to Vaganova Method
During the classical class portion of our program students will begin learning the basic fundamental terminology and vocabulary used not only in classical ballet, but particularly the Vaganova Method.
Ballet Competitions
Should a student wish to participate in Ballet Competitions, we provide students with additional private training to prepare a solo for upcoming competitions.
