What is the Vaganova Method?
The Vaganova Method is one of the world’s most respected classical ballet training systems. Developed by Russian pedagogue Agrippina Vaganova, it combines the best elements of French, Italian, and Russian ballet traditions. It focuses on building strong technique, musicality, and artistic expression through a clear, progressive syllabus.
At what age should my child start ballet?
We recommend starting between the ages of 5 and 7. Our Pre-Ballet Program (ages 5–9) is specially designed to develop coordination, strength, posture, and musicality while gently introducing the Vaganova Method.
How is Ballet Express different from other ballet schools?
We are one of the only schools in Australia teaching the authentic Vaganova Method with fully qualified Russian-trained teachers — not adaptations or “Vaganova-inspired” programs. We also offer official Vaganova Exams and maintain very small class sizes (maximum 12 students).
Do you offer Vaganova exams?
Yes. We conduct Vaganova Exams from Levels 1 to 6, examined by Russian pedagogue Mr. Albert Mirzoyan. Students receive official certificates that are recognised internationally.
What ages do you teach?
We teach students from ages 5 to 16 through two main programs:

Do you prepare students for professional careers?
Yes. Our Elite Training Program is designed for students with professional potential. We focus on advanced technique, pointe work, repertoire, and preparation for auditions at top vocational ballet schools in Australia and overseas.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes, we offer FREE trial classes. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time for your child to experience a class.
What should my child wear to class?
Students should wear appropriate ballet attire (leotard, tights, and ballet shoes). A full uniform list will be provided upon enrolment. Hair should be neatly tied back in a bun for all classes.
